Before you click: expect a blue Windows warning

When you open the installer, Windows will show a blue box that says “Windows protected your PC.” That isn’t a virus warning. It’s Microsoft letting you know we haven’t yet paid them roughly $400 a year for the privilege of being called “trusted.”

If you trust Auxilium, this is a completely safe download. It takes two clicks to get past it:

1Click “More info”

2Click “Run anyway”

Then the installer takes over

  1. Windows asks “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?” Click Yes.
  2. If an older Auxilium Backup is on this computer, the installer offers to remove it. Your settings are kept.
  3. Click through to Finish, then sign in with your account.
